The Lord our God is not a liar

1 John 1:8-10

[8] If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.

Hebrews 6:18

[18] God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.

Romans 3:10-17

[10] As it is written:

“There is no one righteous, not even one;

[11]     there is no one who understands;

    there is no one who seeks God.

[12] All have turned away,

    they have together become worthless;

there is no one who does good,

    not even one.”

[13] “Their throats are open graves;

    their tongues practice deceit.”

“The poison of vipers is on their lips.”

[14]     “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”

[15] “Their feet are swift to shed blood;

[16]     ruin and misery mark their ways,

[17] and the way of peace they do not know.”

Psalm 51:5-6

[5] Surely I was sinful at birth,

    sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

[6] Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb;

    you taught me wisdom in that secret place.
