What the Lord our God hates

Psalm 11:5

[5] The Lord examines the righteous,

    but the wicked, those who love violence,

    he hates with a passion.

[7] The righteous care about justice for the poor,

    but the wicked have no such concern.

Proverbs 3:31-32

[31] Do not envy the violent

    or choose any of their ways.

[32] For the Lord detests the perverse

    but takes the upright into his confidence.

Proverbs 6:16-19

[16] There are six things the Lord hates,

    seven that are detestable to him:

[17]         haughty eyes,

        a lying tongue,

        hands that shed innocent blood,

[18]         a heart that devises wicked schemes,

        feet that are quick to rush into evil,

[19]         a false witness who pours out lies

        and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
