On Communication / On Speaking
--------- Old Testament ---------
[19] A gossip betrays a confidence;
so avoid anyone who talks too much.
---------
[9] Do not speak to fools,
for they will scorn your prudent words.
--------- New Testament ---------
[29] Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
---------
[9] But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. [10] Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time. After that, have nothing to do with them. [11] You may be sure that such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.
-------------------------------------------
[19] My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, [20] because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.
-------------------------------------------
[20] Do you see someone who speaks in haste?
There is more hope for a fool than for them.
