The Path
[12] There is a way that appears to be right,
but in the end it leads to death.
-------
[2] A person may think their own ways are right,
but the Lord weighs the heart.
-------
[13] “There are those who rebel against the light,
who do not know its ways
or stay in its paths.
[14] When daylight is gone, the murderer rises up,
kills the poor and needy,
and in the night steals forth like a thief.
[15] The eye of the adulterer watches for dusk;
he thinks, ‘No eye will see me,’
and he keeps his face concealed.
[16] In the dark, thieves break into houses,
but by day they shut themselves in;
they want nothing to do with the light.
[17] For all of them, midnight is their morning;
they make friends with the terrors of darkness.
-------
[5] Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
[6] in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
-------
[13] “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. [14] But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
