The People who Cry
[20] They were helped in fighting them, and God delivered the Hagrites and all their allies into their hands, because they cried out to him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in him.

[12] For he will deliver the needy who cry out,
the afflicted who have no one to help.
-------------------------
[6] Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.

[1] I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
-------------------------
[5] When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord;
he brought me into a spacious place.
[6] The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?
[7] The Lord is with me; he is my helper.
I look in triumph on my enemies.

[31] So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.
-------------------------
[17] You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted;
you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,
[18] defending the fatherless and the oppressed,
so that mere earthly mortals
will never again strike terror.
-------------------------
[13] Whoever shuts their ears to the cry of the poor
will also cry out and not be answered.
-------------------------
[5] Those who sow with tears
will reap with songs of joy.
[6] Those who go out weeping,
carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
carrying sheaves with them.
